I'M
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCKKKKKK!
Hello
Hello Hello ! ! ! . . . and Happy 2004 ! ! !
Yes, I
have been MIA for waaaay too long. I do plan to rectify that
situation, pronto. You will be hearing from me more often
than not - that will be one of my New Years' resolutions:
to keep up to date with what the heck everyone is up to.
I spent
the holidays completely, unabashedly in sugar heaven (hell)?
Why do people supply fitness/bikini competitors with more
sweets than any one person could ever eat for gifts??
Various
people brought to my house IN ONE WEEK over Christmas - and
this is not a joke:
1. One
Mile-High Apple Pie
2. Three Dozen Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
3. A Mint Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake
4. A Pecan Pie
5. Another Pecan Pie
6. A HUGE container of peanut butter brittle with milk chocolate
glaze
7. A sour cream coffee cake
8. A box of chocolates from New York City's "Chocolate
Bar"
9. An Egg Nog Pound Cake
10. A Cranberry-Blueberry Pie
11. A Sour Cream Apple Walnut Layer Pie
12. A Dozen Fruit and Cheese Danishes
13. Two Dozen Italian Bakery Cookies
14. One Fresh Granny Smith Apple Pie
Most of
which I sent home with those unsuspecting visitors of mine
(love you all to death). I guess that I should just thank
the heavens that I did not get sick (?!) must be the donuts
- HAHA!
I heard
that I missed THE par-tay of the year with the FAP. I was
inundated with work here at the channel and a lot of personal
things going on over here on the East Coast. All under control
- thank goodness - but it does appear like quite a bit to
ask for more than two long vacations from here to compete.
MTV does need me to SOME degree ;)
If all
goes well here at the work-stead, I am planning on attending
my "alma mater," Fitness/Bikini South Beach - otherwise,
my competition season will start with the Atlantic - promoter
Brian Canone's show in CT in April. Like everyone, I am just
hoping to have a great time competing in 2004. After all,
I really could not have dreamt a better 2003. You people made
it all worth it.
So - I
am setting some goals for myself (totally new concept, I am
sure):
1. I am competing in Fitness!
2. I am cleaning up my diet.
Presently,
I am just getting my strength and flexibility moves under
control and tight. Who knew that there was even a muscle THERE
to pull? Never mind. Cathy? ! !
One thing
that I was literally blown away by was/is the cardiovascular
endurance that it takes to get through almost two minutes
while stretching one leg here and your arm there and your
. . .. I am NOT complaining - just simply making an observation...quite
the feat - I have a WHOLE new respect for all Fitness competitors.
I have
to commend everyone who puts up with my craziness on a regular/semi-regular
basis: Cathy, Nancy, Holly, Heidi, Coco, Dave, Reg, Stacy
at O2, Linda, Tisha, Paulita, Obi, etc. etc.
To the
"New to Competing" - whether it be Bikini or Fitness
- get ready for the best time of your life! Time, money and
god-willing, I'll be able to get to as many of the shows as
possible - as a competitor or as the over jubilant and supportive
audience member/fan.
There
you have it.
PS: If
you have not already signed up - e-mail trainer/choreographer
Cathy Savage (as if we have to ask who this woman is) about
attending her Fitness prep camp in early Feb ASAP. It is where
I started and got the 411 on how NOT to embarrass myself at
my first show (Bikini South Beach 2003). Ever wonder what
Pam cooking spray can do besides keeping a mean egg-white
omelet from sticking to a non-stick pan???
More MUCH
sooner than later - until then, stay strong.
