Wow~ what a wonderful summer! I spent lots of time at home with family & entertaining which is just how I like it! As I was pre-warned, ours has become the most popular house in the neighborhood because of our new pool! I now have friends of all ages that I didn't know existed and we've lived here for over 10 years!!!!!!! That's ok it's great to watch everyone having such a good time!!! My goodness~ the harder I train on-season the more I look forward to and appreciate my off-season!

I continued to train hard and make healthy food choices, for the most part, but somehow that sneaky 10 lbs found it's way around my entire body (I'm one of the lucky ones who gains it EVERYWHERE!) I typically give myself 8 weeks for contest prep but here we are half way into September and I haven't gotten on a roll yet and I was planning on competing in DC in October. Doesn't look good but I will try!!! I will use the same routine, music, costumes & props, so my prep is just a matter of stretching out, warming up and dropping that stubborn 10 lbs! My motivation usually hits me like a ton of bricks when I least expect it~ so right now I am struggling through the motions and waiting patiently for the "hit"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking forward to working with some of Cathy's new recruits on strength moves and stage walk. Watching the new girls practice so hard, make sacrifices and have such high expectations is always very inspirational to me. It gives me the kick in the @#$% that I need and reminds that I can't slack off because all these amazing new girls are coming up behind me and they are hungry!!!!! Not to mention the usual elite group of competitors who already have a leg up on me! Yes, it's time to stop wasting time and start practicing & dieting HARD!!!!!

If nothing else I have to look my absolute best this year at FAP Nationals in November because my 20th high school reunion is the following week and my web site is linked the the reunion site (not my doing)~ needless to say I'm sure everyone expects me to look good or at least FIT!!! My goodness~ where does the time go (that's something my mother would say!!!!!!!!!!)

Love & Laughter~ Dawn XOX
