She's been competing for nearly 20 years and yet Dena Weiner never seems to slow down or loose interest in a competitive fitness lifestyle. But, with three sons, all jocks in a variety of sports, it is hard for her to be anything else. The 2005 Fitness America Pageant Champion and mortgage loan officer has been active through her life
and long before fitness competitions. Dena explains, "I was always athletic and especially into gymnastics in high school and college. Of course, cheerleader was a real passion of mine." But it was after college that fitness bug bit into her and lead into an incredible career.
"I can not tell you how excited I am for this year’s Fitness America Weekend! It will mean the very most to me of any show or competition I have ever done," Dena enthusiastically explains. "This will be my 85th fitness/figure/bikini show and I will be coming full circle as this year all THREE of my sons will be competing with me. Kyle (20 years old and 3rd year competitor) and Brett (19 years old and 2nd year competitor) will be coming back along with my youngest son Justin (18 years old) whom will be competing for the first time."
So, to say that Dena is prouder of competing with her sons is more than an understatement. Despite her lifelong athletic accomplishments, Dena asserts that, "All the trophies in the world and money won over the years does nothing to compare how proud and blessed I am as a mother to see all my three sons following in my foot steps. They have made health and fitness a lifestyle as I have done my entire life. Being a great roll model is every parents dream!"
But the athletic prowess of the Weiner household goes beyond their front door. "I am training with my sons, some of their friends and hopefully I am able to get more of my fitness friends to come aboard and all compete in November at the Fitness America Extravaganza in Las Vegas", claims Dena "It’s going to be an awesome ride!"
