The Figure America Championships is assuredly one of the most competitive events of the season. And at the recent show in Las Vegas, over 50 of the country’s best natural competitors were lead by a relative newcomer to the Figure stage. Fresh off her win at the Figure Florida in Tampa, Monika Rodgers of Pennsylvania won not only the
Short Class but the Overall title. But most impressive, is that the 42 year old interior designer chose to skip the Classic Division and take her chances among the Open Division competitors. The 5’3”, 117 lbs. college graduate was part of the first drug tested Figure America at which all competitors were subjected to random urinalysis testing. Samples were sent to the Michigan laboratory which turned around test results in 48 hours and before the Saturday finals. |
